Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery at WINH

Why Choose the Weight Institute of New Hampshire for Bariatric Surgery?

The procedures we perform at WINH are laparoscopic isolated gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. Minimally invasive laparoscopy requires much smaller incisions than traditional abdominal surgery, and patients generally have less pain and scarring after surgery and recover more quickly.

Our approach to bariatric surgery provides you with everything you need to achieve lifelong weight loss success before, during and after your bariatric surgery.

Surgical Options

Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y)

The stomach is divided forming a small pouch, about the size of a golf ball.  Gastric Bypass results in the best weight loss, averaging 50-80% decrease in excess body weight and can help cure diabetes.

Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy

With a vertical sleeve gastrectomy, a section of the stomach is removed, which reduces stomach capacity without bypassing the intestines or causing gastrointestinal malabsorption. Weight loss is slower than gastric bypass; expect to lose 50-70% of excess body weight within twelve months after surgery.
